Storm and Bandits to Re-New Rivalry on Saturday

The Sioux Falls Storm and Sioux City Bandits will meet for the 22nd time on Saturday at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City. The Storm has won 10 consecutive meetings over the Bandits. Sioux City comes into the game with a 4-7 record and is still alive to win the Eastern Division regular season title.

Sioux City is coming off of a strong victory against the Colorado Ice, scoring the most points in a single game in UIF history. They scored 79 points in the win, and have scored a combined 152 points in the last two weeks. They look to keep the streak of points going against the Storm, who comes into the game with a league best 9-2 record.

Bandits Quarterback Chad Kapanui is second in the league in passing yards this season. He has thrown for 1,950 yards and 38 touchdowns while also running for six more touchdowns. In the win against Colorado last week, he threw for 212 yards and seven touchdowns. John Bentley is the leading rusher for the Bandits, as he has accumulated 517 yards and 15 touchdowns in just eight games. He had 4 touchdowns in the win last week. The Bandits also have a stellar receiving corps, led by O.J. Simpson. He has 775 yards and 15 touchdowns on the year. Receivers John Ostermeyer and Tommy Hofer are also having great seasons. Hofer had two receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown last week, while Ostermeyer had three receiving touchdowns last week.

The Bandit defense is led by Chad Hustedt who is currently sixth in the UIF in tackles with 60.5 in only nine games. UIF All-Star Spetlar Tonga is twelfth in the UIF in tackles, and is also sixth in sacks and second in tackles for loss. He has 3.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss on the year. Defensive Back Alex Ardley and Hustedt lead the team in interceptions with three a piece.

Rookies will be holding a Viewing Party on Saturday as well for Storm fans to watch the game on their big screen TV's. Saturday's action can be viewed by logging onto www.b2tv.com and buying the broadcast for $7. The Storm will be back home on Saturday, June 14 vs. the Bloomington Extreme. Kickoff is set for 7:05 PM.
