
United Indoor Football Week Thirteen Preview

Omaha, NE - Week thirteen of the United Indoor Football season is here. All eight teams are jockeying for possible playoff positioning. This weekend's match-ups feature geographic rivalries between the teams. The games are as follows: the Rage will rumble with the Extreme, the Wild welcome the Beef, the Bandits battle the Storm and the Outlaws meet up with the Ice.
BLOOMINGTON (6-5) vs. RIVERCITY (4-7)
At St. Charles, MO
Saturday, 7 p.m. Central
The RiverCity Rage return home and will host their border rival, the Bloomington Extreme Saturday evening at the Family Arena. The Rage defeated the Wichita Wild 41-13 last Saturday evening at the Kansas Coliseum. Leading the way for RiverCity were linebacker Joe Bevis and quarterback Ryan Maiuri. Bevis led the defense with his team-high 6.5 tackles and two tackles for loss; he also added a three-yard touchdown run. Maiuri tallied 193 yards of total offense (44 rushing and 149 passing) and two total touchdowns (one rushing and one passing). The Extreme are coming off their bye week. In their last action, they nipped the Sioux City Bandits 76-73 May 17th at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Bloomington was led by quarterback Dusty Burk and defensive back Mike Crumpler. Burk had 278 yards of total offense (26 rushing and 252 passing) and had a hand in eight touchdowns (one rushing and seven passing). Crumpler made a team-high 9.5 tackles (seven solo and five assisted) to lead the defense.
OMAHA (8-3) vs. WICHITA (2-9)
At Wichita, KS
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Wichita Wild welcome their border rival, the Omaha Beef, to the Kansas Coliseum for a Saturday evening showdown. In their last action, the Wild fell to the RiverCity Rage 41-13 last Saturday evening at home. Wichita was led by quarterback Efi Eyo and defensive back J.R. Webber. Eyo tallied 111 yards of total offense (40 rushing and 71 passing) and one passing touchdown. Webber made a team-high eight tackles and also had a tackle for loss. The Beef are coming off a bye week. In their last action, the team fell 61-40 to the Billings Outlaws at home on May 17th. Leading the way for Omaha were defensive back Diezeas Calbert and running back R.J. Rollins. Calbert led the team with eight tackles (seven solo, two assisted) and also intercepted a pass and broke up another. Rollins tallied 221 all-purpose yards (50 rushing, 23 receiving and 148 kickoff returns) and scored three rushing touchdowns.
SIOUX FALLS (9-2) vs. SIOUX CITY (4-7)
At Sioux City, IA
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Sioux City Bandits continue their three-game homestand by battling the Sioux Falls Storm Saturday evening at the Tyson Events Center. In their last action, Sioux City beat the Colorado Ice 79-60 last Saturday evening at home. Leading the way for the Bandits were defensive back Bruce Johnson and quarterback Chad Kapanui. Johnson made a team-high nine tackles to lead the defense. Kapanui had 217 yards of total offense (five rushing and 212 passing) and passed for seven touchdowns. The Storm are coming off a win as well, having came back to beat the Billings Outlaws 62-52 last Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. Leading the way for Sioux Falls were linebacker Mark Blackburn and quarterback Terrance Bryant. Blackburn tallied a team-high 7.5 tackles, forced a fumble and had a quarterback hurry. Bryant accumulated 281 yards of total offense (19 rushing and 262 passing) and had a hand in eight of the team's nine touchdowns (three rushing and five passing) to lead the offense.
COLORADO (4-7) vs. BILLINGS (7-4)
At Billings, MT
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Mountain
The Billings Outlaws complete their 2008 home slate by meeting up with the Colorado Ice Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. In their last action, Billings fell to the Sioux Falls 62-52 at home. The Outlaws were led by defensive lineman Mike Bazemore and quarterback Chris Dixon. Bazemore made a team-high seven tackles, ½ a tackle for loss and also had a quarterback hurry. Dixon tallied 276 yards of total offense (70 rushing and 206 passing) and had a hand in four touchdowns (one rushing and three passing). The Ice fell 79-60 last weekend to the Sioux City Bandits in Sioux City. Leading the way for Colorado were defensive back Donnie Craft Jr. and quarterback Garrett Mehl. Craft led the defense with a team-high 8.5 tackles and a pass break up. Mehl led the offense with his 166 yards of total offense (50 rushing and 116 passing) and five total touchdowns (three rushing and two passing).
