Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm is please to announce the signings of three defensive standouts for the 2011 season. Linebacker Kelley Rouse and defensive backs Donta Moore and Kadafi Tunsil have joined the team in hopes of helping the defense continue their reputation as being one of the toughest in the league.
Kelley Rouse joins the Storm after being a key player for the Billings Outlaws last season. He led the team in tackles last season with 122, as well as totaling 4.5 sacks and seven pass break ups. Rouse was named 2nd Team All-IFL last season. In the playoffs, Rouse added 37 more tackles and broke up three passes. He was a starter for the Delaware State team that qualified for the NCAA Division-I FCS playoffs in 2007. Donta Moore comes to the Storm after playing last season for the Wichita Wild. Moore recorded 88 tackles and intercepted five passes in the regular season. Moore added 28 tackles and one interception in three playoff games. Moore played collegiate ball at the University of Connecticut where he played strong safety.
Kadafi Tunsil was one of the most consistent players for the Billings Outlaws in three seasons of work. Tunsil recorded 48 tackles, two interceptions, and seven broken up passes during the regular season last year. He continued his strong play in the playoffs, adding 18 more tackles and an interception. Also doing some return work last season, Tunsil averaged 21 yards per return.
"Even though these three are new to our program, they are vets to the indoor game," Storm owner Todd Tryon said. "This kind of talent makes our defense better and will potentially allow us to return to the Thunder Defense our fans are used to seeing."
