Storm acquires young center

Birch Run, MI (November 3, 2004) – The Great Lakes Storm announced today that they have traded the rights to their first round draft pick Andre Brown and a First Round pick in the 2005 CBA Annual College Draft to Sioux Falls in exchange for the rights to Jackie Butler.

Butler (6'10", 250) last attended Coastal Christian Academy High School in Virginia. He has spent time at three different high schools in his career. The Mississippi native was named the best player in the state in 2002 and 2003, making the 2003 McDonald's All-American team. The 19-year-old developed his national reputation playing for the Alabama Lasers AAU team. He recently attended the Minnesota Timberwolves training camp and was released this past week.

Butler and others will begin practice on Thursday, November 4th when CBA training camp opens. More information about the training camp roster and practice times and locations will be released in the next few days.
