Brandon, MB. - The line of Mark Stone, Scott Glennie and Shayne Wiebe combined for a total of ten points Sunday afternoon in leading Team White to a 5-4 victory over the Blacks in the Brandon Wheat Kings' Annual Intrasquad game at Westman Communications Group Place.
After opening the scoring at the four minute mark of the first period, Stone connected for the only goal of the second and then hammered home what proved to be the game winning goal at the 5:57 mark of the third as Team White built up an early 3-0 lead and never looked back.
Glennie, who wound up with three points in the game and Jens Meilleur rounded out the scoring for Team White, who held period leads of 3-2 and 4-2. Wiebe finished with three assists while Stone had three goals and 4 points.
Los Angeles Kings' first round draft choice Brayden Schenn scored once and set up another In a losing cause for the Blacks, who outshot Team White 35-33. Brett Blatz, Daniel Asham and David Toews rounded out the scoring in a losing cause.
A number of cuts will be made later tonight as the team continues to prepare for the 2010-11 Western Hockey League season. Brandon's first of two home pre-season games will be Saturday, September 11th vs. Regina.
