After a win Tuesday and a rain out Wednesday, the Stone Crabs start a four-game in 28-hour stretch at 5 p.m. today in Bradenton. RHP Tobias Myers is scheduled to pitch Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader, with RHP Joe Ryan slated for Game 2.

PLASSMEYER PUZZLES MARAUDERS 5-0

The Stone Crabs got clutch hitting and tremendous pitching to take the series opener from Bradenton 5-0 Tuesday night at LECOM Park. Michael Plassmeyer struck out a career-high nine over seven scoreless innings. As a team, the Stone Crabs' fanned a season-high 15 batters in their 14th shutout of the year. Wander Franco reached base three times and drove in two while Zach Rutherford homered in the win.

ROMERO ROLLING

Stone Crabs starter Tommy Romero has been one of the best run preventors in Minor League Baseball this season. His ERA (1.87) ranks second amongst all active full season pitchers, trailing only Augusta's Seth Corry (1.85). Since the All-Star Break, Romero is a perfect 6-1 with a 1.19 ERA. He's held opponents to a .195 average over that time, and now leads the Florida State League in wins, ERA and WHIP.
