STONE CRABS SWEEP MARAUDERS

The Stone Crabs scored early and held on to defeat Bradenton 3-2 Wednesday, completing a sweep to extend their lead in the division to 1.5 games. Brendan McKay and Tristan Gray delivered extra-base hits in the first inning, putting the Stone Crabs up 2-0 before the pitching staff held the lead.

"STRO"-LLING TO FIRST

Stone Crabs utility man Miles Mastrobuoni is putting together one of the most consistent, under-the-radar seasons of any Charlotte player. The Nevada product is currently second in the league in on-base percentage (.395), pacing the team in walks (43). He is four walks from placing top-10 in franchise history and is seventh in the circuit in hitting (.295). He has played six positions and occupied eight spots in the batting order.

ABOVE THE FRAY

Stone Crabs outfielder Jake Fraley has done nothing but rake since coming off the DL on June 7. Since July 5, Fraley is batting .412/.449/.667 with 11 extra-base hits, 19 RBI, five stolen bases and five walks in 19 games. For the season, he was batting .442 with runners in scoring position.
