
Stolarz Named NAHL Player of the Week

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - The Corpus Christi IceRays are pleased to announce that goaltender Anthony Stolarz has been named the Combat Hockey NAHL First Star of the week.
Stolarz, who was placed on The Hockey News hot list last month and he showed why this past week as the IceRays swept the Texas Tornado.
"Anthony is extremely deserving of this honor and on behalf of the organization we want to congratulate him," said head coach Justin Quenneville. "He has demonstrated many qualities of a mature and confident goalie thus far, and we are excited to continue to see him grow as we progress. His work ethic and aggressiveness will carry him to several opportunities in the near future."
In two games this past week, Stolarz stopped 26 of 27 shots in a 3-1 win on Wednesday night, and Thursday stopped 39 of 40 shots in a 2-1 victory over the Tornado while adding an assist on the game tying goal. For the week, Stolarz went 2-0-0, stopped 65 of 67 total shots for a 97.0% save percentage and posted a goals against average of 1.00.
The IceRays are in action next weekend as they hit the road for two games against the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
