
Stokes to head Maulers

A former local football and basketball star, Kelvin O. Stokes was graduated from G.W. Carver High School in 1992 with All City honors. He played college ball at Alabama State University from 1993 to 1996 and began his coaching career at Carver Jr. High as head B team basketball coach and assistant football coach. Stokes was then named to Carver High School as offensive line coach (1999-2002). He served as offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Sidney Lanier High School (2003-2004). After Lanier he became the offensive line coach with the 2005 division champion Montgomery Maulers of the National Indoor Football League. Stokes is also the current offensive line coach and head basketball coach at Robert E. Lee High School. Stokes ,this week, was named head coach of the Montgomery Maulers.
