Stockton's Perugini Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Andrew Perugini of the Stockton Thunder is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 8-14.

He also received the honor last season for Feb. 23-March 1, 2009.

The 21 year old went 2-0-0 with 58 saves, a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of.967. Perugini stopped all 33 shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season in a 5-0 win against Ontario on Feb. 12.

The King City, Ontario native is 14-8-3 with two shutouts, a 2.53 goals-against average and a.921 save percentage in 27 games this season with Stockton. Perugini's.921 save percentage is tied for first in the ECHL with teammate Bryan Pitton, who is currently with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. He also ranks second in the league with a 2.53 goals-against average.

As a rookie, Perugini appeared in 37 games with Stockton in 2008-09 going 21-13-3 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.81 and a save percentage of.908. He also appeared in one Kelly Cup Playoff game in 2009, stopping 17 of 19 shots in 36 minutes of duty before being sidelined with an injury for the remainder of the playoffs.

Perugini is 0-3-1 with a goals-against average of 4.05 and a save percentage of.874 in four games this season with Springfield of the American Hockey League.
