Elmira's Tyler Donati Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Tyler Donati of the Elmira Jackals is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 8-14.

He also received the honor for the week of Jan. 18-24.

The 23 year old scored 10 points (3g-7a) and had a plus-minus rating of +3 to help Elmira go 2-1-0 and remain atop the East Division standings. Donati has an 11-game point streak (10g-21a) that began on Jan. 22 and has scored three-or-more points in seven of those games.

He scored the game-winning goal and had four points (1g-3a) in a 4-3 win at Wheeling on Feb. 12 and three points (1g-2a) with a power-play goal during a 5-3 victory over Wheeling on Feb. 13. Donati added three more points (1g-2a) and a power-play goal in a 7-5 loss against Trenton on Feb. 14.

Donati leads the league with 79 points, 54 assists and 25 power-play assists while ranking second with 30 power-play points. He has scored multiple points in 20 of his 45 games, including 13 games with three or more points, after having five multiple-point games in 20 games during his first two ECHL seasons.

In three seasons with the Jackals, Donati has 102 points (31g-71a) in 65 regular season games while also playing in the American Hockey League where he has 19 points (6g-13a) in 57 regular season games with Binghamton and Philadelphia.

The Oakville, Ontario native spent four years in the Ontario Hockey League and had 300 points (131g-169a) in 252 regular season games and 39 points (10g-19a) in 36 playoff games for Oshawa, Toronto and Belleville from 2003-07.

On behalf of Tyler Donati, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 23,100 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
