South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, S.C. - Early Friday afternoon, South Carolina Stingrays forward and team captain Andrew Rowe answered fan questions on Twitter, taking over the ECHL account. Fans submitted questions using #ECHLaskRowe.

Rowe: Hey guys, really excited to get going with the Q and A's. Thank you to all of the South Carolina fans and we are pumped to see your support!

Question from @LargeInfant: How do you keep such a majestic beard? And what's the best away arena to play in?

Rowe: Beard is all natural, have to thank my dad-Should see his masterpiece. I'd have to credit Toledo for best away arena

Question from @KJean9 (former Greenville Road Warriors teammate Kyle Jean): Hey Andrew, huge fan here, just curious how it feels to be known around the league as the "ECHL Gretzky"?

Rowe: ECHL Gretzky?? No way. However, as Dean Stork taught us...always BELIEVE.

Question from @senor_eggroll: If you weren't playing hockey, what would you do instead?

Rowe: Life outside of hockey is unknown. Kind of like it that way.

Question from @KristenN1991: How long have you played for the Stingrays?

Rowe: This is my first year as a @SCStingrays and what a year it's been

Comment from @ShannonSzabados (Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist with Team Canada): No question for you. Been following your playoffs. Good luck the rest of the way.

Rowe: Thanks for the support Shannon.

Question from @egardner68: As captain, what do you do in locker room and on the ice to motivate high individual and team performances?

Rowe: Not much to be done or said in the locker room. Team has a ton of leadership where everyone contributes to our success.

Question from @hey_its_abby_g: Any advice for young players that are just starting out?

Rowe: Have fun playing the game. The moment it turns to work is when it becomes a job.

Question from @drew_mackenzie (Stingrays defenseman Drew MacKenzie): Have you seen band of brothers? If not, I suggest you rent it.

Rowe: Have not. Mind picking it up on the way back? #doubledate

Question from @RobConcannon (Stingrays President Rob Concannon): What is your pregame routine?

Rowe: Pregame routine consists of stick handling with my team's president. I think it also keeps him calm before game time.

Question from @Scogin219: What age did you first start playing hockey?

Rowe: Four years old

Question from @S_Caldwell17: Greenville Road Warriors fan here. What's your favorite memory playing with Greenville? Good luck the rest of the way.

Rowe: Favorite memory from playing on Greenville would have to be my teammates. Also, "Smoke on the Water" is a great spot.

Question from @evan_breen: If you could go back in time, would you have pursued table ping pong more seriously along with hockey or no?

Rowe: It would be a toss-up! Toughest question of the day by far. I take my ping pong very seriously.

Question from @ljmoffie (Stingrays defenseman Lee Moffie): Besides Doug, who would you say you are closest with on the team?

Rowe: Besides Doug, I'd say Rob Bellamy because of his dreamy singing voice.

Question from @JDanielsUnoUno (Former Elmira Jackals teammate Justin Daniels): Andrew, long-time listening, first-time caller. What is your favorite video game?

Rowe: Halo is good, but Mario Kart trumps them all. #AnyTakers?

Question from @SinBinMavs: Is there anything worse than when Taco Bell forgets to put your burrito supreme in your bag?

Rowe: The only thing worse than that, and forgetting the hot sauce, is not being able to answer all of everyone's questions.

Rowe: Unfortunately the time is up. Thank you everyone for all the great questions. Looking forward to Sunday! Let's pack the Coliseum Rays fans!
