Arizona Sting News Release

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Arizona Sting and Cox 7 announced today their television broadcast team for the 2006 season. Mike Goldberg and Richard McAbee will be calling the action at all four of Arizona's televised home games on Cox 7 this year. The station has televised Sting games for the past two seasons in the Valley of the Sun.

Mike Goldberg will be calling the play-by-play action for Cox 7's Sting broadcasts. Mike has an eclectic and extensive sports broadcasting background. Having covered NCAA college sports, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, the Canadian Football League, and the National Hockey League to name a few, he has a proven track record of providing excellent coverage and delivering outstanding play calling throughout his career. Formerly the play-by-play broadcaster for the NHL's Minnesota Wild, Mike was also a sideline reporter for the NBA's Chicago Bulls during their first championship run from 1991-1993. A resident of Awhatukee, Goldberg lives with his wife Kim and their two children, Kiarra (8), and Kole (5).

Mike's partner in the broadcasting booth will be Richard McAbee. Richard has been president of the Arizona Chapter of US Lacrosse for the past eight years and is currently the vice president of the Arizona Youth Lacrosse League. The father of four also coaches high school lacrosse at Pinnacle High School and has led two junior high schools to state championships. His extensive knowledge of the sport of lacrosse will be of supreme benefit as he provides color analysis during Cox 7's broadcasts this year.

The four games that will be shown on Cox 7 are:

- Arizona Sting vs. Portland Lumberjax - January 13

- Arizona Sting vs. Calgary Roughnecks - February 18

- Arizona Sting vs. Colorado Mammoth - March 18

- Arizona Sting vs. San Jose Stealth - April 14

The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). In only their second season in Arizona (after relocating from Columbus, Ohio), the Sting finished the 2005 season with a 9-7 regular-season record prior to going on to win the West Division Championship before losing to the Toronto Rock in the Champion's Cup Final (NLL title game).
