San Jose Stealth's Jeff Zywicki Wins Player of The Week
January 12, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
San Jose Stealth News Release
SAN JOSE - San Jose Stealth forward Jeff Zywicki was chosen as the National Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Week for the second week of the season. The NLL Rookie of the Week Award is determined by a vote of the general managers and head coaches of the league's 11 member clubs
Zywicki earned the award after posting three goals, including the game winner in overtime on January 6 at Edmonton. Zywicki was a first round draft pick (eighth overall) by the Stealth in last year's NLL Entry Draft
Stealth General Manager Johnny Mouradian is very happy with what he saw from Zywicki in the first game.
"Jeff was very impressive in his debut" Mouradian said. "When we drafted him we knew that he had the ability to get into tight locations, and that's what he did all night. All three goals were solid, especially the shorthanded goal. He is really filling a need that we had on the offensive side of the ball."
Zywicki will be back in action this weekend as the Stealth play the Colorado Mammoth in a back to back series. The game in San Jose will take place on Saturday, January 14 at HP Pavilion at San Jose at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com, by calling 408-999-5700 or at the HP Pavilion box office.
