SteelHounds Sign Rookie Goaltender

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds Head Coach Kevin Kaminski announced today that the team has signed goaltender Brad Roberts and released goaltender Brian Gratz.

Roberts, 24, joins the SteelHounds after a solid four-year career at WestPoint playing for Army. In his career, the 5-10, 190-pound goalie dressed in 108 games posting career highs in wins (12), save percentage (.909), goals against average (2.53) and shutouts (5) in his senior season. While at Army, the Cassville, New York native received the United States Military Academy's highest athletic honoring being awarded the Army Athletic Association Trophy (2006). Roberts ended his career owning 13 Academy records and three Atlantic Hockey records and was a three-time Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team member (2004, 2005, 2006). Prior to joining the SteelHounds, Roberts attended the American Hockey League training camp of the Syracuse Crunch.
