Steelheads Stampeded in Idaho

Gary, IN: The Gary Steelheads started a four game in five nights stretch in Idaho last night. The night was not good for the Steelheads as they lost 105-89. The 89 points scored by the Steelheads is a season low.

The Steelheads started out the game on fire and captured the first quarter by the score of 36-30. The Storm were not to be denied and won the second quarter 28-19 to hold the halftime lead 58-55. Kasib Powell had 16 points at half to lead the Storm, while Shelly Clark had 17 points at half for the Steelheads.

Leading the way for the Steelheads was Jemeil Rich, who scored 24 points and had 12 assists to go along with 6 steals. Darrin Hancock had his best game of the season so far with 18 points on 5 for 6 shooting from the field and a perfect 8 for 8 from the line. Leading scorer David Graves was held to 15 points in the loss. Lonnie Jones had a Steelhead season high 15 rebounds and also blocked 4 shots.

The Steelheads play the Stampede again tonight before traveling to Yakima to take on the Sun Kings on Monday and Tuesday of next week. The Steelheads return home to the Genesis Convention Center in Gary on December 17th. Any fan who donates a toy will be given a free ticket for the December 31st contest.
