Steelheads preparing for CBA draft

Gary, IN. The Gary Steelheads are making final preparations for the 19th Annual CBA College Draft, to be held tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21st. Any player who was eligible to be selected in the 2004 NBA Draft is eligible for the CBA Draft. The draft consists of six rounds. The Steelheads have eight picks in the six round draft. Steelheads Head Coach Duane Ticknor will make his selections live via teleconference at 7 p.m. from Smokey Bones BBQ and Sports Bar, 740 E. 81st Avenue in Merrillville.
"This is very exciting time of year for us as an organization. We have several prospects that we are targeting for the upcoming season. We hope that they will be able to come into training camp and contribute for the upcoming season," said Steelheads Head Coach Duane Ticknor.
Draft Festivities start at 6:30 p.m. The Gary Steelheads kick off their 5th season in the CBA on November 20th, when they host the Rockford Lightning at the Genesis Convention Center at 7:05. Season and Individual game tickets are still available for purchase.
