Steelheads Playoff Dates Announced for First Round, Tickets Available

GARY, Indiana (March 13, 2006) - The CBA announced game dates for the first round of the upcoming CBA Playoffs today. By virtue of earning the top playoff slot during the regular season, the Gary Steelheads will host two home games in the first round.
The Steelheads will welcome the Western Conference champion Yakama Sun Kings to the Genesis Center on Thursday, March 16th. Gary will then host the defending CBA champion Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday, March 18th. Game time for both of these contests will be 7:05PM CST. The Steelheads travel to Boise, Idaho on Monday, March 20th, to face the Idaho Stampede in the third playoff game of the first round.
This year the first round of the playoffs is structured in a round-robin tournament format with the playoff teams of the opposite conference. The CBA finalists will be determined by quarter points, with the two teams earning the most total quarter points in three playoff games advancing to the CBA Finals. Different from previous years, this format creates the possibility that two teams from the same conference could meet in the Finals to determine the CBA champion.
Playoff tickets will be available at the Genesis Center Box Office, beginning at 2:00PM CST. Further information on playoff tickets is available through the Steelheads' office at 219-882-4CBA (4222).
