
Steelheads open road trip

GARY, Ind. (January 5, 2004) â The Gary Steelheads put their six-game road winning streak on the line Tuesday when they play the Rockford Lightning at the MetroCentre. It is the first of a four-game road trip for the Steelheads.
The Steelheads have won 9 of 10 that included a franchise-high and Continental Basketball Association season-high nine straight wins.
The Steelheads fell to the Idaho Stampede in overtime Saturday, 117-114. It was their second overtime game in as many days. In Saturday's game, Jemeil Rich had 17 assists, which tied his own franchise-best. He dished out 17 assists on Nov. 20, 2002 vs. Yakima.
The Steelheads play at Idaho on Friday and Saturday nights. They travel to Yakima on Tuesday, January 13 to face the Sun Kings.
The Steelheads return home on Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17 for back-to-back games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Friday is American Red Cross Blood Donation Night. Fans who donate blood will receive two tickets to a future Steelheads game. Saturday is Sate Farm Bank Night. Boomer and Bowser, the Indiana Pacers' mascots will be part of the entertainment. It is also Teddy bear Donation Night. Fans are asked to bring a teddy bear for donation to children in the special units at The Methodist Hospitals.
