Idaho's Davis Named Player of the Week

Boise, ID (January 5, 2004) — The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Idaho Stampede forward Josh Davis was named the League Player of the Week for the week of December 28 – January 3.

For the week, Davis averaged 20.0 points and 11.25 rebounds per game in four games played. He also posted 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.25 steals per contest, while helping the Stampede win three of four games, all on the road. The University of Wyoming alum shot 67.3 percent (33 of 49) from the floor and 84.6 percent (11 of 13) from the free throw line. His 11.3 rebounds per game during the week ranked second in the league, moving him to 4th overall in rebounding (9.3 per game) in the CBA, while his 18.6 points per game has him ranked 6th in the league in scoring.

In a 119-116 victory over the Dakota Wizards on December 31, the 6-foot-8 forward posted 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Three nights later, he scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as he helped the Stampede end the Gary Steelheads' nine-game winning streak with a 117-114 overtime victory.

Other players receiving consideration were Gary's Jemeil Rich (23.3 ppg, 14.0 apg), Great Lakes' Jermaine Jackson (25.6 ppg, 10.5 apg), and Sioux Falls' James Head (25.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg).
