Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release
Bethlehem, PA: In another game filled with offensive highlights, the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (2-4) dropped another tough game, this one to the Richmond Raiders (4-2). This is their second loss by two points or less in a row. They will look to rebound next week against the Columbus Lions in another home game.
The game was in the Steelhawks favor for three quarters of the game. The first quarter saw Lehigh Valley leading at the end with a score of 29-8. QB Adam Bednarik threw for 3 touchdowns, all to different receivers with Tyrone Collins, Torieal Gibson, and Tom Gilson each on the receiving end.
Richmond was able to cut the deficit a little in the second quarter; it was 51-39 as the teams went into half time. Bednarik threw for his fourth touchdown on the night, becoming the Steelhawks All-Time Leader in Passing Touchdowns.
The Raiders continued their march back into the game throughout the second half. By the end of the third quarter the Steelhawks led by only two points. The fourth quarter saw both defenses stand strong, only ten points were scored. Unfortunately it was a Raiders touchdown and only a K Evan Selman field goal for the Steelhawks, resulting in the final score, 66-64 Richmond.
