Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release

Bethlehem, PA: The Steelhawks (4-0) kept everyone on the edge of their seats till the very end of the game. In another game that came down to the last play of the game, Lehigh Valley won their 4th straight game 36-30 over the Harrisburg Stampede (2-3). This gives the Steelhawks a 2-0 lead in the Keystone Classic series with Harrisburg.

Lehigh Valley's defense once again was the stars of the game. They held the Stampede's high powered rushing attack to only four yards total. DB Terrance Osborne was named Countess Communication's Player of the Game after his clutch play; he had two interceptions and led the team with 12 tackles.

The game started off slow, Harrisburg led 7-0 after the first quarter. The action picked up in the second quarter, each team trading touchdowns. Osborne had his first interception, a 45 yard pick six early in the quarter to tie the game up. The Steelhawks had a one point lead, 16-15, entering half time.

The barn burner continued in the second half. The Steelhawks never lost the lead but the score remained close. The Steelhawks had a 31 yard field goal blocked with 22 seconds left in the game that would have put them up by nine. Instead, it was Stampede ball as the clock slowly ticked down. Harrisburg drove down to the Steelhawks one yard line, but the Steelhawks defense kept them out of the endzone, denying them on four straight pass attempts.

The win puts the Steelhawks at 4-0 and firmly in first place in the National Conference. Their next contest is at home, Mother's Day, Sunday May 11th, 4pm kickoff. They will be taking on the Alabama Hammers, the game will be "Pinked Out," as it is Health Awareness night presented by St. Luke's University Health Network. The team will be playing with pink footballs and there will be 800 pink rally towels given out to the first 800 fans through the door.
