Steelhawks Go All-League on Defensive Line
November 21, 2013 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release
Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks have made some significant signings in the last couple weeks, assembling an all-league defensive line. Three PIFL veterans and sack masters have been teamed up in Michael Woodhouse (6'4, 270), Brandon Sutton (6'3, 290), and Justin Wells (6'3, 310).
The Lehigh Valley welcomes these defensive leaders and couldn't be more excited to have them all playing in the same place. Each is a defensive powerhouse that should create a strong push up front for the Steelhawks this season.
Woodhouse aka 'Freak,' led the PIFL in sacks in 2012 when he played for the Richmond Raiders and was named to the league's All-PIFL First team. He took the 2013 campaign off from playing.
Sutton (Catawba) spent last season in Richmond where in nine games played he racked up nine sacks and 33 total tackles. His sack total was good enough to place him fourth in the league and he was named to the All-PIFL's First Team.
Wells (University of Alabama Birmingham) played in Knoxville this previous year for the Nighthawks, where he accumulated five sacks and 29 total tackles. For his efforts he was named as an All-PIFL Second team member.
The Steelhawks have also added another receiver to their offensive arsenal. Daniel Borne (5'10, 205, University of Alabama Birmingham) is a PIFL rookie but has spent some time in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Steelhawks are continuously adding talent for the 2014 season. The first open tryout for the 2014 season will be this Sunday, November 24rd at Iron Lakes Sports Complex.
