
Steelhawks Announce 2013 Schedule

Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks are excited to announce their 2013 PIFL schedule. At a press conference held earlier today at the Steelhawks Official Team Hotel, Comfort Suites - Allentown/Dorney Park, it was revealed that the Steelhawks first ever PIFL game will be Friday, March 8th in Alabama when they take on the Hammers.
The PIFL has a 15 week schedule, containing three bye weeks, six home games, and playing primarily on Saturday nights. The Steelhawks season kicks off in Alabama but the team returns home the next week for their Home Opener against the Knoxville Nighthawks at 4pm inside Stabler Arena on Sunday, March 17th. Lehigh Valley's newest rival, the Richmond Raiders, are on the schedule twice, the first in Richmond on April 13th and then the Raiders will be making their first trip to the Valley on April 27th. Another highlighted game on the Steelhawks schedule comes in Week 11 when the defending PIFL Champions, the Albany Panthers, come to town to face the Steelhawks on May 18th for the first of two meetings.

Other exciting news announced today was the addition of a local product in former Bethlehem Catholic High School star quarterback Adam Bednarik, who signed his Steelhawk contract this afternoon. Bednarik played his college ball in the Big East where he was the signal caller for the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Today's press conference also included the announcement of the Steelhawks and Comfort Suites new partnership going forward. The Steelhawks will be holding an open tryout for the 2013 season on Saturday, November 17th at Iron Lakes Sports Complex. Registration is now available online, at the Steelhawks website. The team is hard at work recruiting for the 2013 season.
