CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI - The Chippewa Steel returned to Chippewa for their first home game of 2020 on Friday night. The Steel looked to extend their six-game home win streak with a victory over the Janesville Jets before heading to their rink on Saturday night.

Despite a few good shots on goal, both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the first period of play. Steel goalie Trent Burnham controlled the net in the second period keeping the Jets offense from scoring despite two powerplay chances.

The Steel were able to jump ahead at the midpoint of the third period. With help from a Luke Farthing goal assisted by Zane Demsey and Grisha Gotovitz, the Steel jumped ahead to their first lead of the night. Burnham continued to dominate between the pipes and lead the Steel to a shutout victory over the Jets with a score of 1-0.

The Steel will head to Janesville tomorrow night to take on the Jets on their home ice. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm and fans can watch the game live on HockeyTV. The team will return to Chippewa on January 24thand 25th for a weekend series against the Austin Bruins. Friday night's game promotion is $2 Beer Night presented by Miller Lite. Saturday night is Guaranteed Win Night. For tickets call 715-861-2131 or visit chippewasteelhockey.com.
