Steel Host Fan Appreciation Night this Friday

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Prior to their first USHL Clark Cup Playoffs appearance in nine seasons, the Chicago Steel will host an exciting, giveaway-filled Fan Appreciation Night this Friday, April 7, as the team faces the Muskegon Lumberjacks in Chicago's final regular season home game of 2016-2017. Puck drop at Fox Valley Ice Arena is set for 7:05 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Tickets start at just $10 and parking is free.
Wrapping up the most successful regular season in team history, the Steel will celebrate its growing Fox Valley fanbase with a multitude of prizes, both at the game and in the days leading up to Fan Appreciation Night. On their social media channels, including Facebook (facebook.com/chicagosteel), Twitter (@ChicagoSteel), and Instagram (chicagosteel), the Steel are giving fans the opportunity to win tickets to the game along with some terrific prizes, including:
-Be introduced as part of the Steel Starting lineup on the ice
-Zamboni ride
-Perform ceremonial puck drop
-Pre-game tour of the Steel locker room for you and three guests
-Upgrade your seat to the front row
-Watch warmups from the team bench
-Guest appearance on the live Steel broadcast with Rob Sanderson
-Be a contestant in a Steel promotion during the game
In addition to the social media contests, the Steel will have prize giveaways throughout Fan Appreciation Night. Fans are encouraged to stop by the Guest Services table in the main lobby upon arrival to enter to win.
Prior to the opening puck drop, Steel players will honor their families, and billet (housing) families, with an on-ice ceremony beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m.
"Fan Appreciation Night is a special opportunity for us to say thanks to our great fans and to those that provide a key support system for our players," said Steel President Dan Lehv. "We can't think of a better way to wrap up a very special regular season."
This past weekend, the Steel clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference, guaranteeing home-ice advantage for the Eastern Conference Semifinals and, if the Steel advance, the Eastern Conference Finals.
Chicago will host Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Friday, April 14, Game 2 on Saturday, April 15, and, if necessary, Game 5 on Tuesday, April 25. All home games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Fox Valley Ice Arena, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.
Chicago's first-round opponent has yet to be finalized, but has been narrowed down to the Green Bay Gamblers or Youngstown Phantoms. Once the opponent is determined, the USHL will announce the official schedule for the series.
