Quad City Steamwheelers News Release


DAVENPORT, Iowa - For the Quad City Steamwheelers football season never stops and the Halloween spirit is fresh in the air.

Today, the Steamwheelers' players, DeckMate Cheerleaders, front office staff and Steamwheeler Willie will be in the Quad City area spreading the Halloween fun and taking in a high school football game.

Starting at 4 p.m., Steamwheeler Willie and the DeckMate cheerleaders will be at Quad City Radio Group, located at 3535 Kimberly Road in Davenport, for their annual Halloween Night. Listeners are encouraged to bring their children under 12 to Trick-or-Treat throughout the radio station studios. Kids will receive a goody bag and will get a chance to meet their favorite DJ¹s. The event will run until 6 p.m.

After that Steamwheeler Willie and the Steamwheelers front office staff will be at the big Pleasant Valley vs. Davenport Assumption football game at Brady Street Stadium, a game with major playoff implications. The famous Steamwheelers inflatable Arena Football field will be up and running for kids to run through throughout the game. During the game DeckMate Cheerleaders and Steamwheeler Willie will be tossing out t-shirts, handing out Steamwhistles, posters and stickers to fans. The game is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

The Steamwheelers are gearing up for their sixth season, as a charter member of the af2. The 2005 af2 season is set to kickoff the first weekend of April.
