Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
(Davenport, IA) - The Quad City Steamwheelers announced today that all 16 regular season games and any playoff games will be broadcast live on the Quad City Radio Groups' WOC 1420 AM this season.
"It was exciting to broadcast all the games eight years ago when they were originally on WOC," says Larry Rosmilso, Vice President and General Manager of the Quad City Radio Group. "We are excited again to have them not only back playing, but back on WOC. Due to conflicts between the Steamwheelers and Mallards scheduled on WFXN, we thought it would be best to carry them all season long on WOC."
Jim Albracht will continue to handle the play-by-play duties for the Steamwheelers. He will be calling all of the action home and away for 15 of this year's regular season games. Chris Hassel, from WOC, will be calling the season opening game on March 31st in Cincinnati.
"We are glad to be continuing our partnership with the Quad City Radio Group for the 2007 season," says Mike Bawden, Majority Operator of the Quad City Steamwheelers. "The radio group has been a key partner for the team extending all the way back to the inaugural season in 2000."
