Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
(Davenport, IA) - The Quad City Steamwheelers Fan Club re-launched www.steamwheelerfans.com today. The web site is the official fan web site of the Steamwheelers.
"Steamwheelerfans.com was created at the end of the 2000 season as a way to express passion and support for the team," says Gary Stibolt, the Steamwheelers Fan Club President. "This is our fourth release of the web site and it has grown tremendously over the past seven years."
The new fan web site provides fans of the Steamwheelers and Arena Football an opportunity to express their view and opinions about the team and league. The site is run by the Steamwheelers Fan Club, one of the largest Fan Clubs in all of Arena Football with over 600 members.
"The team is interested in engaging fans on a much more direct level than ever before - and good communication with the fans is the first step in doing that," says Mike Bawden, Managing Partner of the Quad City Steamwheelers. "The new Steamwheelerfans.com web site will be an essential tool in keeping fans up to date and involved with the team all year long.
"Additionally, I spend time on Steamwheelerfans.com every day to get a pulse on what our fans think. The ideas from some of the fans on the web site have led to opportunities for the team to enhance its relationship with its fan base."
The web site will keep many of the features that fans of the Steamwheelers have come to love. Fans will still be able to post opinions on the message board and the same great coverage of the team through contributor articles and photos will remain a staple of the web site.
In addition to an updated design several new features have been added to the site. The biggest feature that is being added to the site is the new "Game Day Live" feature where fans who are unable to attend a game will be able to listen to a webcast of the radio broadcast, track ball movement, downs, scoring, game action summaries and follow along with a real-time blog post (for select games).
The web site will also host weekly chat sessions with coaches and players, have historical data in a comprehensive Steamwheelers tribute section and many more ways to keep fans in touch with the team.
"We liked the way the new site turned out," said Stibolt. "We hope the fans enjoy it. As always, we redesign the site with feedback from fans. If there is something the fans would like added we encourage them to let us know."
Fans that are interested in learning more about the Steamwheelers Fan Club and to express their opinion on the team are encouraged to visit www.steamwheelerfans.com.
