Wichita Stealth News Release
Wichita, KS. - The Wichita Stealth placed kicker Jason Corse on short-term injured reserve today after Corse suffered a shoulder injury against the Louisville Fire. Corse separated his shoulder late in the first half on a kick off return. He did play the rest of the game against the Fire but will not be able to play this week against the Bossier City Battle Wings.
Corse, a former kicker for South Carolina University, has been very successful with the Stealth. He has made 29 of 37 extra points, and has scored 44 points for the Stealth in only five games. His best performance thus far was against the Fresno Frenzy. Corse was a perfect seven-for-seven on extra point attempts, made one field goal, and kept the leagues top kick off returner, Lamont Webb, under 20 yards in returns with perfectly placed kickoffs.
The Wichita Stealth has not named a replacement for Corse. Head Coach Land Jacobsen, and Director of Football Operations Bob Cortese are evaluating several prospects to fill the void left by Corse. The Stealth travel to Bossier City this week to take on the Battle Wings. The Stealth will depart Thursday night for the Saturday contest. The Stealth will then take on the Louisville Fire the following week, in Louisville, Kentucky. Last week the Stealth defeated the Fire 62-39 in the Kansas Coliseum. The Stealth are riding their first winning streak of the season, and look to extend it to three games this week in Bossier City.
