Stealth announce radio station partnership

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Stealth and 1590AM (KLIV-AM) jointly announced today a deal that makes the San Jose-based radio station the home of the National Lacrosse League's San Jose Stealth beginning with the 2006 season.
The agreement calls for 1590AM to broadcast all eight home games for the Stealth plus any playoff games. The station will be known as the "Home of the San Jose Stealth" on the radio.
The Stealth also announced that the "Radio Voice of the San Jose Stealth," will be Rocky Koplik. Koplik will provide the Play-by-Play call for all Stealth broadcasts on 1590AM. The experienced Koplik has been the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the San Jose Giants since 2002 and is also an accomplished free-lance sports writer. Koplik will be joined on the air by a variety of color analysts including Stealth scouts and scratched players.
"We are very excited about our new association with KLIV," said Silicon Valley and Sports Entertainment Executive Vice President of Business Operations Malcolm Bordelon. "KLIV provides us with a great signal and Empire Broadcasting is an exceptional marketing partner. More importantly, we will have the opportunity to grow and strengthen our fan base through this new partnership."

"We share management's great hopes for the team's growth in the years ahead, and we're hopeful that the Stealth will contribute significantly to San Jose's national reputation."
The San Jose Stealth are entering their third season of playing professional indoor lacrosse in the NLL. This marks the first season that the team will be broadcast on the radio in the Bay Area.
The San Jose Stealth open the regular season this Friday in Edmonton. Catch the Stealth on January 14, 2006 as they play their home opener against the Colorado Mammoth at 7:30 p.m. at HP Pavilion.
