Rush ramps up entertainment value

EDMONTON, ALBERTA- When the fast paced, high scoring, hard hitting game of professional lacrosse debuts in Edmonton Friday, it will introduce a new brand of sports entertainment to the City of Champions with an Orange Country Chopper, a mischievous mascot, a monster truck, Edmonton's Crush dance team, an interactive DJ, and some rowdy Road Hammers.

The Edmonton Rush inaugural game will be a non-stop sensory spectacle that will keep the crowd entertained and wondering what will happen next. It will be the first chance for the public to experience the exciting sport of Lacrosse and the unconventional activities that are a part of the game atmosphere. Fans can take a thrill ride on the team's full-sized Monster Truck before the game. Inside, they will be introduced to the acrobatic mascot, along with the league's hottest new dance team - Edmonton's Crush. The arena will also be rocking, with a crowd level DJ, who will mix music live over the game action.

The first game is also OCC Night. The first and only Orange County Chopper in Canada will be unveiled during the highly anticipated half time show. The Orange County Choppers created a custom Edmonton Rush chopper to serve as a signature piece and inaugural memento for the Edmonton Rush Lacrosse Club. One lucky season ticket holder will win a trip for two to New York to meet the cast and crew of American Chopper at the OCC shop. Three other lucky fans will win a mini replica of the Rush Orange County Chopper.

The 2005 Canadian Country Music Band of the Year, The Road Hammers will take half time into overdrive. The Road Hammers are a five-piece no-nonsense, kick-ass mix of Country, Southern Rock and Blues who sing songs of maverick culture and the open road. The band will sing its signature truckin' classics such as "East Bound and Down", "Keep On Truckin" and the autobiographical flagship anthem "I'm A Road Hammer". With songs that explore the universal themes of losin', lovin ‘and livin' -all delivered in an amazingly fierce package - this fleet of melodic mayhem is sure to haul in a huge response at the Rush home opener.
