Greenhalgh, Roik Win NLL Week One Player Awards

A pair of Philadelphia Wings players were honored this week for their performances in the Wings 13-11 win over the Colorado Mammoth in Week One. Wings Rookie forward Sean Greenhalgh and fifth year goaltender Matt Roik each took home awards after leading the Wings in the victory. Greenhalgh earned the Overall, Offensive, and Rookie Player of the Week Honors while Roik took home the Defensive Player of the Week Award for Week One. Greenhalgh, a Cornell University graduate, scored a game high seven points on four goals and three assists, including netting three goals in the decisive fourth quarter. Roik earned the Defensive Player of the Week Award for anchoring the Wings defense in the win. Roik recorded 44 saves, allowed ten goals, and collected two loose balls in the victory. Roik also allowed only a single goal in the decisive fourth quarter.

OVERALL, OFFENSIVE, & ROOKIE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sean Greenhalgh (Philadelphia) - (4g, 3a, 7pts, 1lb) scored seven points on four goals and three assists to led the Wings to a 13-11 win over the Colorado Mammoth. The rookie forward also scooped up a loose ball and scored three of his goals in the decisive fourth quarter of the contest.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Matt Roik (Philadelphia) - (44 saves, 10GA, 2LB) recorded 44 saves, allowed ten goals, and collected two loose balls in a 13-11 win over the Colorado Mammoth. Roik anchored a Wings defense that allowed just one goal in the decisive fourth quarter.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
