
Stauffer Promoted to Class-AA Mobile

The Lake Elsinore Storm announced Wednesday that starting pitcher Tim Stauffer has been promoted to Class-AA Mobile. The 21-year-old right-hander made six starts for the Storm before the promotion, posting a 2-0 record and a 1.78 ERA - fifth best in the California League. The Saratoga Springs, NY native struck out 30 and allowed 28 hits in 35.1 innings of work. He pitched at least five innings in each of his six starts and allowed more than two earned runs just once. Opponents hit just .215 against him.
In conjunction with the move, the Storm also announced that outfielder Josh Carter will join the team. Carter, a native of Fallbrook, CA, hit .300 with six home runs, 18 doubles and 56 RBI in 96 games with the Storm in 2003. The 23-year-old began the 2004 season with Mobile where he hit .247 with one home run and six RBI before joining the Storm Wednesday.
The Storm host the Lancaster Jethawks Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13 before beginning a six-game road trip in High Desert Friday. The Storm celebrated its tenth anniversary season with a fourth consecutive playoff berth in 2003.
