JetHawks Drop Series Opener 4-2 to Storm

(Lake Elsinore, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks had their two game winning streak snapped as they dropped the opening game of a three-game road trip to the Lake Elsinore Storm 4-2 at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore on Tuesday night.

The JetHawks got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning. With one out, Neb Brown doubled and came home on a RBI single by Jesus Cota. For Cota, it was his twentieth run-batted-in over the past fifteen games.

Lake Elsinore got to JetHawks starter, and losing pitcher, Dustin Glant (3-3) for two runs in both the third and fourth innings on nine hits to chase him from the game.

The only other run Lancaster could come up with was in the sixth inning. Jamie D'Antona led off with a walk. Phil Avlas then hit a ball back to the pitcher, Gabe Ribas, who threw the ball away for an error and let D'Antona go to third base.

Adam Haley then drove home the run with one of his three hits on the night.

Haley finished with three hits for the second straight game.

The Lancaster offence had come into the game having scored sixty-five runs on eighty-one hits over the past six games, but were held to only eights and two runs in the loss. The loss drops the JetHawks to 19-12 on the season The series against the Storm continues on Wednesday night with a 6:05 p.m game.

Clint Goocher will go to the mound for the JetHawks to make his seventh start of the year. Eddie Bonine will make his first appearance of the year against the JetHawks.
