Staten Island Yankees Announce New Improvements for 2013
The Staten Island Yankees, entering the second year of operation by Nostalgic Partners, LLC, are excited to announce changes for the 2013 game day experience. The ownership group has listened to feedback from the 2012 season, and will be implementing positive changes based on fan recommendations. These changes include: lower priced ticket offerings, reduced online fees, new food options with season ticket packages, improved All-You-Can- Eat service and food quality, an increase in promotional nights and gate giveaways, and new designs for Staten Island Yankees merchandise.
Individual ticket prices have been reduced across all 38 home games. $10 tickets are available for twelve home games this season. In response to fan feedback, online ticket fees were renegotiated in the offseason to help make online purchases more affordable. Online consumers will see a reduction of 40% from 2012 fees. Print at home fees (typically $2) have been waived and convenience fees have been reduced from $3.50 per ticket to either $1.50 on tickets under $18 or $2.50 for tickets over $18. Individual tickets go onsale at siyanks.com at 9:00am on Monday, April 29, 2013.
In addition to single game purchases, group prices have also been lowered for 2013. Groups of 10 or more have the option to buy $12 tickets for all games. To provide increased options to fans in 2013, groups can now also purchase a $20 ticket that includes a $14 food and beverage card which can be used at any concession stand throughout the Ballpark. We are once again offering the All You Can Eat group ticket option.
In response to season ticket holder suggestions for more variety, the team is now offering a member card with full season tickets and 21 game plans that can be used for any concession offering at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Full season ticket holders receive a member card with $418 in value as part of their $646 season ticket plan. This member card can be used for any food or drinks offered in the Stadium. This includes your favorite beer!
Last season, the Staten Island Yankees brought back game day giveaways and theme nights, which had been absent since 2006. The 2013 season will feature even more giveaways and theme nights to help improve the fan experience and provide additional
value to loyal fans. Giveaways for this season include bobblehead dolls, replica jerseys, backpacks, and a number of other items to be announced. We have also crafted several three game ticket packages to take advantage of these giveaway nights! For example, we have a three game jersey package as well as a three game bobblehead package. Theme nights will include Breast Cancer Awareness, Italian Heritage, Jewish Heritage, Health and Wellness, Military Appreciation, Anti-Bullying, Throwback, and Staten Island Strong Night, which will honor the heroes and the affected families from Superstorm Sandy.
To offer more variety for fans in 2013, Thursday Night Fireworks has been replaced with "Thirsty Thursdays." Customer feedback has shown that fans prefer fireworks on the weekends, and "Thirsty Thursdays" appeals more to the Thursday night crowd. $2 domestic 12oz drafts will be offered from 6:00 pm -7:30 pm on June 20th and June 27th. All Friday and Saturday night games will continue to be followed with postgame fireworks.
Regarding All You Can Eat, it was very clear that this popular program has become harder to manage with its growing popularity. The personnel demands also impacted our regular concession stands. This was very apparent during several games last year earlier in the season. In order to maintain food quality and service, we have cut back the number of allowable All You Can Eat tickets per game. As such, group leaders who really want this option, please make reservations early so we can accommodate your group for your preferred night.
Finally, improvements have been made to the Team Store, with new merchandise at more affordable prices. New York Yankees merchandise will be offered at Minor League prices. A new line of Staten Island Yankees hats and shirts will be unveiled for 2013. We think you will find products with a greater variety of price points when compared to 2012.
