-SPIKES LOOK TO EVEN SERIES: The State College Spikes continue their first road trip of the season tonight as they face the Jamestown Jammers in the second of three games at Russell Diethrick Park. The Spikes are now 1-2 against the Jammers this season after last night's defeat, and 12-9 all-time at Diethrick Park. State College is now in a four-way tie for the second night in a row, although dropping from second to third.

-LAST GAME: The State College Spikes got on the board first, but it was the Jamestown Jammers' scoring burst in the middle innings that carried them to a win over the Spikes, 8-3, at Russell Diethrick Park on Monday night. State College took advantage of a pair of errors plus an RBI double by Matt Skirving to take a 3-1 lead after three innings. Jamestown (was able to fight back, however, and plated four runs in the fourth inning to take control of the game. Walker Gourley and Gerlis Rodriguez also produced doubles for the Spikes, while Kelson Brown went 2-for-4 to up his average to .385 on the season. Brown was sixth in the league at .374 coming into Monday's game, and jumped to fourth afterwards.

-DODSON GETS THE START FOR SPIKES: Left-hander Zack Dodson becomes the second straight Spikes start looking for his first victory as a professional as he gets the ball for State College. Dodson has yet to receive his first professional decision as well, after one appearance in the Gulf Coast League last year and two for the Spikes in 2010. The Texas southpaw has gone a total of 7.2 innings so far this season, notching his first 2010 strikeout this past Thursday against Jamestown.

-JAMESTOWN TO SEND HODGES TO MOUND: Josh Hodges makes his second appearance against State College this season as he makes the start for the Jammers. Hodges allowed four runs, two earned, on four hits and three walks last time out against the Spikes. The right-hander also struck out one. In his first outing of the year, Hodges pitched six shutout innings, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out five. The Marlins' seventh-round pick in 2009, Hodges is one of 22 pitchers with an undefeated record in the NYPL.
