HUNTSVILLE - After shutting out the Smokies in Game 1, the Stars doubled up and did the same in the second game of a double header with a 5-0 win at Joe W. Davis Municipal Stadium in Huntsville on Saturday night.
The Stars (15-14, 61-38) moved ahead of the Smokies (14-15, 47-51) by one game in the second half standings with the victory. The loss also dropped Tennessee to two games back of first place Birmingham in the second half race.
A two run double from Shea Vucinich highlighted a three run and three hit Huntsville second. Vucinich's double followed a Robinzon Diaz single and a Kentrail Davis walk. Vucinich later scored on a single from Stars starter Eric Marzec and Huntsville took a 4-0 lead.
