Huntsville Stars News Release
HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - The Huntsville Stars welcome the Mobile BayBears into town on Friday for one final home stand of the 2010 regular season. It's a four-day, five-game series with a double header on Saturday to make up for the rainout in Mobile last weekend.
The Stars are looking to have one final, exciting home stand to send them into the playoffs. Things kick off Friday night with AAA Triple Play, where fans can get three tickets for the price of one just by presenting their AAA card at the ticket office. That's just under $3 a ticket! Game time is set for 7 p.m.
The Stars will play two seven-inning games on Saturday starting at 4 p.m. It's another Costco Saturday where fans can get 50% off their tickets just by showing their Costco membership card. Also, Comcast customers who present their Comcast bill at the ticket office will get 2-for-1 tickets! One ticket will get you into both games. When you can get 14 innings of baseball for just $4, you can't go wrong! The second game will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
The final SportsMed Sunday is a great family day at The Joe! All kids wearing a youth sports uniform will receive free admission. The gates open at noon. Come out early and play catch on the field before the game. All kids and kids-at-heart are welcome to stay after the game and run the bases.
The Stars wrap up the regular season on Monday, September 6 with a special 1 p.m. game. Show your military or government ID card at the ticket office to get $1 admission for Military Monday. Bring your friends and family with you and they get $1 admission as well, thanks to NetwoRx of Huntsville.
The Stars are currently tied for second place in the Wild Card standings with Chattanooga. They trail the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx by three games with just six to play. Both the Diamond Jaxx and Lookouts only have five games left to play. The Tennessee Smokies clinched the second-half North Division championship over the weekend, making them winners of the first and second halves. That means the team with the best overall record advances to the playoffs. Things will get interesting as we get down to the wire. Come out and support your Huntsville Stars during this final home stand and cheer them on to the playoffs!
