Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders will travel to Toronto to face the Argonauts on Aug. 28. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Rogers Centre.
The Stamps and Argos are meeting for the second and final time of the 2009 regular season. The teams squared off on July 17 in Calgary, with the Stamps winning 44-9.
The clubs faced each other twice during the 2008 season and the Stampeders swept the series, claiming a 34-4 win at McMahon Stadium on Sept. 20 and a 44-16 victory in Toronto on Sept. 27. Calgary also prevailed in the final meeting of 2007, which means the Stamps currently have a four-game winning streak against the Argonauts.
Both clubs are back in action after a bye week. Calgary's previous outing was a 38-35 loss at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium on Aug. 13. Meanwhile, the Boatmen dropped a 36-28 decision to the BC Lions at Rogers Centre on Aug. 14 to extend their losing streak to three games.
The next Stamps home game is Sept. 7 against the Edmonton Eskimos. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. at McMahon Stadium. Limited tickets are still available through Ticketmaster (403.777.0000 or online at Ticktemaster.ca) and fans hoping to attend the game are encouraged to get their tickets before the game is sold out.
