Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Calgary Stampeders face the Ottawa RedBlacks for a second consecutive game as the clubs meet on Thursday in the Nation's Capital.

The Stamps were 24-14 winners at McMahon Stadium on June 28 to improve their record to 3-0 before entering their Week 4 bye. The RedBlacks, meanwhile, were in action last week as they upped their record to 2-1 thanks to a 28-18 victory against the Alouettes at Montreal's Percival Molson Stadium.

Calgary is looking to open the season 4-0 for just the second time in the past 22 seasons. Since the 1996 edition of the Red and White accomplished the feat, only the 2014 edition of the Red and White has kicked off a new season with four consecutive wins.

The last two meetings between the Stamps and RedBlacks at TD Place Stadium have ended in draws - 26-26 in 2016 and 31-31 last season. Those are the only ties in CFL regular-season play since the start of the 2010 campaign.

The Stampeders are 6-1-2 all-time in regular-season action against the most recent Ottawa franchise.

Calgary hasn't lost a game following a bye since dropping a 22-16 decision to Toronto in 2005. The Stamps have since rattled off 16 straight wins after a week off including two last season - a 21-17 victory at BC Place on Aug. 18 after a Week 8 bye and a 28-25 win in Hamilton after a Week 16 break.
