Calgary Stampeders News Release
The 2010 Calgary Stampeder Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, Aug. 30 at the Calgary Elks Lodge and Golf Club.
The annual event, which is organized in conjunction with the Forzani Foundation, has raised more than $300,000 for amateur football in Southern Alberta through the first five years of its existence.
"The Calgary Stampeder players, coaches, staff and ownership are committed to this community and, along with the Forzani Group Foundation, we are honoured to continue that legacy with this tournament," said Stampeders president/COO Lyle Bauer. "Amateur football is very important to the Stampeders and it is the foundation to our future."
The tournament, which is sold out, offers teams an opportunity to play with current Stampeders players and coaches as well as Red and White alumni.
The next home game for the Stamps is the ENMAX Labour Day Classic on Monday, Sept. 6 against the Edmonton Eskimos. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. and tickets are still available by contacting the Stampeders' Ticket Office (403-289-0258 or toll free at 1-800-667-3267), Ticketmaster (403-777-0000 or online at Ticketmaster.ca) or by visiting any local Safeway or Sport Chek location.
