Stampeders Play Host to Lions
June 26, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Calgary Stampeders News Release
Following a Week 2 bye, the Calgary Stampeders will return to action to face the BC Lions on Saturday evening with both teams looking for their first win of 2019. The game kicks off at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on 770 CHQR radio and TSN.
Calgary (0-1) began their season with a 32-28 loss to the visiting RedBlacks. The Lions (0-2) have been dealt defeats by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Edmonton Eskimos thus far.
The Stamps and Lions met in the second week of the pre-season with BC securing a come-from-behind victory. In 2018, the Red and White went 2-1 against BC including a 1-1 mark at home.
DeVone Claybrooks will be returning to McMahon Stadium as BC's head coach for the first time since spending a decade with the Stamps organization - three seasons as a player followed by seven seasons as an assistant coach.
A triumph for the Stampeders on Saturday would prevent their first 0-2 start at home since 2011 and their first pair of consecutive losses overall to start a season since 2009.
Week 4 will see Calgary make their initial road trip with a visit to Saskatchewan while BC will face the Argonauts.

From 3 to 5 p.m., the Gridiron Gardens will be in operation on the south practice field for fans of all ages. The fun will include barbeque food options, a DJ, family-friendly games, face painting, a photo booth and sponsorship activations. The Dueling Piano Kings will be on hand to provide live music presented by Skip the Dishes. Two Stampeders players will be signing autographs from 3 to 4 p.m.
Fan Appreciation

Red City drum line
The Red City drum line will be back performing during its inaugural season with routines both before and during the game.
Halftime
