
Stampede Weekly Update: Herd Host Tri-City Tomorrow Night

Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
The Sioux Falls Stampede (16-10-4) will go for their sixth straight win when they host the Tri-City Storm tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 7:05 PM.
It is also $1 Beer Night with the Stampede! Fans can enjoy taps of Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Light for just a buck all night long!
The Stampede are coming off a 3-1 victory at Fargo last night for their fifth straight win. It also moved them into a three-way tie for third place in the Western Conference with Des Moines and Omaha. The Stampede have now collected at least a point in six straight games and seven of their last nine games. After tomorrow night, the Stampede will play eight straight road games.
Williams named USHL Goaltender of the Week
Stampede netminder Stephon Williams was named USHL "Goaltender of the Week" after stopping 57 of 59 shots in two wins last week. Williams shared the honors this week with Des Moines Buccaneers goaltender Michael Shibrowski.
Williams has won five straight starts and is 12-3-4 on the season with a 2.36 GAA and a .916 save percentage in 21 games this season.
Hockey Headquarters Youth Hockey Player of the Week
The Stampede have announced that they are teaming up with Hockey Headquarters in Sioux Falls for the Youth Hockey Player of the Week.
Coaches are encouraged to download the nomination form on the front page of the Stampede website. Click here for more information.
Each week one player, regardless of age or gender, will be randomly selected as the Hockey Headquarters Youth Hockey Player of the Week. That player will receive a $25 gift card to Hockey Headquarters and four tickets to a Stampede game of their choice.
4th annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic "Wiener Dog Race" set for February 19th
Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 19th when the Stampede host Sioux City at 7:05 PM for the 4th annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic "Wiener Dog Race."
30 wiener dogs will compete for a chance to be crowned champion and take home some terrific prizes during the first intermission!
Registration and ticket information will be made available in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
Vanek/Sabres on Versus tonight
Former Stampede star Thomas Vanek and the Buffalo Sabres host the Montreal Canadiens tonight at 6:30 PM.
Vanek is tied for the team lead in points with 35 (17g, 18a) and is coming of a two point performance (1g, 1a) last Saturday in a 5-3 loss to the New York Islanders.
The Sabres are in third place in the Northeast Division at 10-20-5 while Montreal is in second at 26-17-3.
