Around the League
Seven Up
...The Indiana Ice headed west to capture a pair of road victories, extending their road winning streak to seven games. It is the longest road streak in team history, surpassing the record of six they established during the 2008-09 season. Their six-game winning streak came to an end when they suffered a 2-0 home loss to Waterloo on Wednesday, but the Ice bounced back to score 12 goals combined in weekend victories against Tri-City and Omaha. Brian Ferlin had his nine-game point streak halted on Wednesday, but tallied five points (3g, 2a) over the weekend, including the game-winner on Sunday. Blake Coleman dished out four assists to remain on top of the League scoring race. Daniil Tarasov equaled a USHL season high with five points (2g, 3a) in Saturday's 7-4 win over Tri-City. Peter Schneider netted his 15th goal of the season on Saturday while goaltender Jon Gillies made a season high 44 saves to earn his fourth win over his last four starts.
Quartet for Bucs
¬Â¦It was three wins in three nights for the Des Moines Buccaneers over the weekend which extended their winning streak to four games and moved them into a tie for third place in the Western Conference. Justin Selman scored the game-winner in Friday's 2-1 win vs. Waterloo. Two of his three goals this season have been game-winners vs. Waterloo. Dajon Mingo added his team-leading 12th goal of the season in the win. Gasper Kopitar made quick work of overtime on Saturday scoring just 20 seconds into the extra session to give the Bucs a 3-2 victory against Dubuque. Goaltender Tyler Bruggeman made a season high 36 saves to record his third straight win. Defenseman Austin Coldwell dished out two assists and was a plus-five over the three weekend victories. He leads the team with 20 points (6g, 14a). Kevin Irwin scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, during a three-goal third period on Sunday to lead the Bucs to a 4-1 win at Dubuque.
High Five for Herd
¬Â¦A win on Monday pushed the winning streak for the Sioux Falls Stampede to five games. The penalty killing unit has been perfect turning away all 22 power play chances by their opponents during the winning streak. Goaltender Stephon Williams has earned the start in all five games and allowed just seven goals total (1.40 GAA), including four contests in which he allowed just one goal each. Daniel Doremus has put up six points (3g, 3a) over his last four games, including the game-winner during his three-point performance (2g, 1a) in Friday's 4-1 victory over Dubuque. Zack Kamrass posted two points (1g, 1a) and a game high plus-three rating in Wednesday's 3-1 win vs. Tri-City. Ryan Reilly scored his first career USHL goal in Monday's win at Fargo.
Team USA Turns it Up
¬Â¦Team USA picked up five of a possible six points in the standings over the weekend. The Under-17 squad earned their fourth straight win in the USHL when they knocked off the Chicago Steel 5-2 on Friday. Ryan Hartman scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and has tallied four over his last five games. Defenseman Dakota Mermis and Seth Jones both dished out two assists in the win. Jones has recorded seven assists over his last five games. Also on Friday, Rocco Grimaldi and Ryan Haggerty scored a little more than a minute apart in the first period while goaltender John Gibson stopped all 31 shots he faced to record his first USHL shutout as the Under-18 squad defeated Green Bay 3-0.
Road Rules
¬Â¦The Fargo Force hit the road and picked up two wins during the week, extending their road streak to five consecutive victories. Defenseman Dan Weissenhofer scored his second goal in a span of three games and the club converted on 4-of-5 attempts in the shootout to earn a 3-2 win against Omaha on Thursday. Colten St. Clair scored two goals in the third period on Friday to lead the team to a 3-1 win at Sioux City. Goaltender Zane Gothberg made 19 saves to record his fourth straight win. Defenseman Brian Cooper added two assists and then scored the team's lone goal on Monday.
Back on Track
¬Â¦The Waterloo Black Hawks snapped a nine-game winless skid on Wednesday knocking off one of the hottest teams in the League when they earned a 2-0 win against Indiana. Forward Max Edson scored the game-winning goal and goaltender Jay Williams made a season high 36 saves to record his first career USHL shutout. On Saturday, they collected their second win of the week while forward Dan McNamara and defenseman Trevor Owens both scored their first career USHL goal.
Goals Galore
¬Â¦In a two-game weekend series, the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Green Bay Gamblers combined for 20 goals. The Gamblers scored four in the third period of Saturday's 6-2 win. The Lumberjacks got even by scoring a season high in goals during Sunday's 8-4 win. Forward Travis Belohrad recorded the hat trick while Chris Lochner and Jordan Masters each had a pair for the Jacks. Austin Czarnik scored two for Green Bay and ended up with three goals on the weekend.

¬Â¦Youngstown Phantoms goaltender Greg Lewis made a season high 37 saves and stopped 5-of-6 attempts in the shootout to earn his third straight win in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Team USA ¬Â¦Ryan Dzingel scored two goals on Friday to lead the Lincoln Stars to their third straight win. Dzingel added an assist on Saturday to extend his point streak to four games (2g, 3a) ¬Â¦The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders scored four goals in the third period on Saturday to come from behind and claim a 5-3 win vs. Lincoln. Jayson Megna had a three-point night (1g, 2a), including his League-leading 18th goal of the season. He has seven points (3g, 4a) over his last four games ¬Â¦Dubuque Fighting Saints forward John Gaudreau scored his 18th goal of the season on Sunday to move into a tie for the USHL lead ¬Â¦Daniil Zharkov scored two goals, including the game-winner, for Tri-City during their 6-4 win against Cedar Rapids on Friday. It was the first two USHL goals for Zharkov ¬Â¦Jonathan Liau has scored two goals, plus a shootout tally, over his last three games for the Omaha Lancers.
