Stampede Move Up in West Division
STAMPEDE UPDATE: The Sioux Falls Stampede earned five of a possible six points last week, all against West Division opponents. On Tuesday, the Stampede blanked the Tri-City Storm 2-0 behind Matt Ludnin's 23 save performance. It was the first shutout of the season for Lundin. Dan Sexton led the way offensively with a two-goal performance while Erik Peterson, David Solway and Ryan Guentzel all recorded assists in the win
On Saturday, the Stampede improved to 14-6-0 on the road with a 4-2 win over Des Moines. Corey Tropp had two goals while Dan Sexton and Brad Malone added goals of their own. Lundin earned the win in goal once again, stopping 19 shots on the night.
Yesterday afternoon, the Stampede let a 3-1 second period lead slip away as they fell 5-4 in overtime to Sioux City. Brad Malone had two goals and an assist while Nick Dineen added a goal and an assist of his own in the loss.
Despite the loss, the Stampede did move into a three-way tie with Lincoln and Des Moines for fourth place in the West Division with a 22-14-3 record. The Stampede are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and are 12-3-1 since the winter break. The Herd trail first place Omaha by just six points entering this week's play.

The Stampede continue their four-game homestand with a weekend series against the Indiana Ice. The Ice swept the Stampede by scores of 4-3 and 4-2 back in December. The Ice are 20-13-5 and in third place in the East Division. Last weekend, Indiana earned three of a possible four points against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. On Friday, the Ice topped the Riders 6-3 before falling 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night. They are led by Garrett Roe who leads the team with 49 points (20g, 29a) in 36 games. John Kemp is second with 45 points (11g, 34a) in 36 games.

STARVING STUDENT NIGHT FEB. 20:
The second McDonald's Starving Student Night will take place next Tuesday, February 20th when the Stampede host the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 PM. For just $5, students of any age can receive: One (1) Game Ticket ($7.50 Seating Area) and a coupon for a Buy One/Get One Free Extra Value Meal from McDonald's of Sioux Falls and Brandon. These tickets may be purchased ONLY through the Stampede business office (230 South Phillips Ave). MALL GOLF TOURNAMENT FEB. 23:
The Stampede will be hosting a MALL GOLF Tournament coming up on FRIDAY, February 23rd at 3:30 PM. This will be a 9-Hole game of Miniature Golf held at The Empire Mall. The cost to play is $50 for a Foursome Team with 100% of the event proceeds raised directly benefiting SPECIAL OLYMPICS SOUTH DAKOTA... SANFORD CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL and the HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION "CARE FOUNDATION". An entire 18-Team MALL GOLF Tournament can be played in under "75" minutes. STAMPEDE ALUMNI LIGHTING IT UP:
With just three weeks left in the regular season for college hockey, several former Stampede players are helping their team position themselves for a postseason run. The Stampede have former players on each of the top four teams in the country. Notre Dame is #1 followed by Minnesota, New Hampshire and St. Cloud State in this week's poll.
