
Stampede Make Moves at the Trade Deadline

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede announced Tuesday they have bolstered their roster for the remainder of this season and for the 2017-18 season. The club has acquired forward Grant Reichenbacher (RIKE-en-bach-er), a third round draft choice in the 2017 Phase I USHL Draft, a third round selection in the Phase II USHL Draft and a player to be named later from the Lincoln Stars in exchange for forward Jack Doremus.
In a second trade, the Herd obtained forward David Brumm, a fifth round selection in the 2017 Phase I USHL Draft, a second round selection in the Phase II USHL Draft and a player to be named later From the Dubuque Fighting Saints in exchange for defenseman Alex Stevens and a 7th round selection in the USHL Phase II Draft this May.
The Stampede were also able to attain forward Marcus Russell, a third round pick in the 2017 Phase II USHL Draft and a player to be named later from the Muskegon Lumberjacks for forward Austin Albrecht.
Including two earlier transactions made by the Stampede this month, the Herd have received four players for the remainder of this season, six players to be named later that can skate with the Herd during the 2017-18 season and seven draft picks for the upcoming 2017 USHL Phase I and Phase II Drafts. The Phase I Draft is for players who are under-17 for next season while the Phase II Draft is open to any aged player who is eligible to play junior hockey next season and is not protected by any other team.
Reichenbacher is in his first season in the USHL and posted two assists in 24 games with the Stars. A native of Madison, WI, Reichenbacher spent last year skating with Madison Edgewood Prep with 61 points (36g, 25a) in 21 games. He is eligible to return to the USHL next season.
Brumm is a native of Maple Grove, MN and in his first season in the USHL. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound centerman recorded nine points (6g, 3a) in 37 games with the Fighting Saints this year. Prior to joining Dubuque, Brumm skated two season with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Russell appeared in 20 games with the Lumberjacks this season, posting five assists. A native of Traverse City, MI, Russell began the season with Topeka of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) where he registered 25 points (12g, 13a) in 28 games. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound forward has already committed to Michigan Tech University.
Doremus recently appeared in his 100th career game with the Stampede and recorded 36 points (20g, 16a) in two seasons with the club. He will attend the University of Denver this fall. Stevens was also in his second season with the Herd and tallied 41 points (10g, 31a) on the blue line. The Plymouth, MN native will skate at Penn State University. Albrecht was in his first season with the Herd, leading the team with 35 points (5g, 30a) in 44 games and will attend the University of Massachusetts next season.
Reichenbacher, Brumm and Russell will join the Stampede this week and are expected to make their team debuts this weekend as the Herd travel to Lincoln and Des Moines. Puck drop is 7:35 PM Friday night from the Ice Box and 7:05 PM on Saturday at Buccaneer Arena.
