Stampede can make it 17 straight vs Sioux City

The Stampede look to extend their franchise record winning streak to 17 games this Wednesday night when they host the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:05 PM. The USHL record for most consecutive wins during the season is 19, held by the Des Moines Buccaneers during the 1998-99 season. The Stampede are 4-0-0 versus the Musketeers this season. The Herd can also extend their home winning streak to a franchise best 15 games.

Wednesday night is also Buffalo Wild Wings "Stampede Player Card Set #3 Night." This is the third of four sets that will be given out during the season. Be among the first 1,500 fans through the doors Wednesday and receive your set of five (5) player cards, compliments of Buffalo Wild Wings.

REDMOND COMMITS TO FERRIS STATE

Stampede defenseman Zach Redmond announced over the weekend that he has committed to Ferris State University for the 2007-08 season. Redmond, in his first year with the Herd has posted four points (2g, 2a) in 23 games. Last year, Redmond posted 53 points (18g, 35a) in 63 games with Detroit Compuware.

Ferris State is a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) and are 9-6-5 on the season. The school has an enrollment of 11,000 and is located in Big Rapids, MI. Redmond becomes the 11th Stampede player to commit to a Division 1 college or university.

STAMPEDE QUICK FACTS

Alex Kangas and John Murray are once again the top two goaltenders in the league. Kangas leads the USHL with a 13-1-0 record and a 1.63 GAA while Murray is second at 14-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA.

Kangas has won a Stampede record 12 straight starts, six shy of the USHL record of 18 held by Matt Carney of the Des Moines Buccaneers during the 98-99 season.

Murray is tied with Bucs netminder Troy Davenport for most wins in the league at 14.

Andreas Nödl has six points (2g, 4a) in his last five games.

Nate Prosser (+22) and Chris Berenguer (+17) rank first and second amongst USHL defenseman in plus/minus.
