Ice and Tony Stewart this Friday

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- Since winning NASCAR's Nextel Cup this past November, Tony Stewart continues to spread his name throughout the community in a positive way, most notably with his ongoing efforts with the Tony Stewart Foundation.

Established in 2003, the Tony Stewart Foundation is used primarily to raise and donate funds to help care for chronically ill children. Recipients from the Foundation have included The Make a Wish Foundation, The Indiana Special Olympics, Greytrescue, the Charlotte Metropolitan Zoo and the Kyle & Pattie Petty's Junction Gang Camp.

The Columbus, IN native recently teamed up with local radio personalities Bob & Tom for an auction that benefited The Ronald McDonald House. The event pulled in more than $33,000 which covered the costs for 18 families to stay at the house for six months.

Stewart will be taking his "championship act" to the Indiana Ice this Friday (1/6) in efforts to raise money for the Tony Stewart Foundation. The 2005 winner of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard will be the "Honorary Assistant Coach" for the night when the Ice host the Sioux Falls Stampede at 7 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum.

The Ice will be donating two dollars from every ticket sold to the Tony Stewart Foundation. Autographed J.D. Byrider and Tony Stewart Jerseys will be auctioned off throughout the game with the proceeds benefiting the Foundation.

In addition, the first 3,500 people through the door will receive a commemorative Tony Stewart t-shirt and the first 2,000 spectactors will receive a J.D. Byrider "Hero Card" featuring pictures and stats of Stewart.

Tickets are still available for a pre-game VIP party with Tony Stewart. The VIP party package consists of a game ticket, dinner, drinks, an exclusive silent auction and an autograph session with the Nextel Cup Champion. Tickets cost $200 with proceeds benefiting the Tony Stewart Foundation.

For the game itself, tickets range from $11-$15 and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including Karma Records, select L.S.
