Stampede Add Slovakian Forward Simun to Roster

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede are pleased to announce the addition of forward Eduard Simun (pronounced She-moon) from Slovakia. The 19-year-old centerman most recently played for Team Slovakia at the World Junior Championships in Sweden.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound forward has been playing for Team Slovakia U-20 this season where he recorded two assists in 16 games. Last season, Simun skated with HC Banska Bystrica in Slovakia where he recorded six points (3g, 3a) in 27 games. In 2011-12 as a 17 year-old, Simun posted 25 points (11g, 14a) in 33 games with HC Banksa Bystrica U20.

Simun will wear #7 for the Stampede and could make his Stampede debut as early as tonight when the Herd host I-29 rival Sioux City at 7:05 PM at the Sioux Falls Arena. Tomorrow night the Stampede host Des Moines at 7:05 PM. It is also Replica Jersey Night. The first 500 children 16 and under through the doors will receive a FREE Stampede replica jersey, compliments of Waterbury Heating & Cooling and Coleman.
